Welcome to Phil's Gills! We strive to breed the best and healthiest fish for your freshwater aquariums. Thank you for looking and happy fish keeping!

You are purchasing Emerald Dwarf Rasboras (Celestichthys erythromicron). These stunning nano fish were proudly tank-bred and raised right here in my home fish room on a high-quality diet of micro pellets, crushed flakes, and live/frozen baby brine shrimp. They are healthy, fully acclimated, active, and ready for their new homes.

Emerald Dwarf Rasboras are highly prized in the aquascaping community for their striking turquoise-blue vertical stripes, vibrant orange fins, and tiny size. They are completely peaceful and make a phenomenal addition to heavily planted tanks, nano aquariums, and shrimp-safe setups.

These fish will ship in a box for 2 to 3 day shipping depending on your location. Please note that occasionally shipping can take 4 days, but this is not common and is out of our control.

Shipping:

Packages will always ship on Monday or Tuesday. We do this to ensure your fish arrive safely in case of any issue with the post office. Please see the listing to confirm the shipping method for your order. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

DOA Policy:

In the unfortunate event of a DOA — while a rare occurrence — please take a photo of the fish in an unopened bag within 2 hours of receiving your shipment. If the fish is deemed DOA, we will always refund the cost of the fish or offer you the same value toward another fish. Shipping costs cannot be refunded. If the bags have been opened, the DOA policy is voided. We double bag everything we send.

If you have any questions about fish care, please ask before purchasing. Once the fish enter your tank, we are not responsible for uncycled tanks or improper animal care.

General Information — Emerald Dwarf Rasbora

The Emerald Dwarf Rasbora is a spectacular nano species endemic to the high-altitude Lake Inle region of Myanmar. Renowned for their intricate, zebra-like patterning and compact size, they bring subtle elegance and constant activity to micro-aquariums.

  1. Appearance: They feature a metallic pinkish-orange body covered by up to 15 brilliant, vertical emerald-green to deep blue bars. Their fins display a gorgeous, contrasting fiery orange-red wash.

  2. Tank Setup: They thrive in a well-planted aquarium of at least 10 gallons. They are native to heavily vegetated waters, so they appreciate dense plant coverage, floating plants, and low-light areas to feel completely secure and display their boldest colors.

  3. Water Conditions: They prefer a pH of 6.8–7.8 and a temperature between 72°F–78°F. Clean, stable water parameters with regular weekly maintenance are key to keeping them healthy.

  4. Diet: Because of their tiny mouths, they require small foods. Eagerly accept high-quality crushed flakes, micro pellets, Repashy gel food, and thrive on frozen or live baby brine shrimp and daphnia.

  5. Compatibility: Completely peaceful nano fish. They are excellent tankmates for dwarf shrimp, fancy guppies, peaceful corydoras, and other micro-rasboras. Avoid large or aggressive tankmates that could easily mistake them for a meal.

  6. Social Behavior: They are schooling fish that feel safest in groups of 6 or more. While they can be slightly timid when first introduced, keeping them in a healthy school alongside active "dither fish" like guppies will encourage them to spend their time out in the open.
