If the fish is deemed DOA, we will always refund the cost of the fish or offer you the same value toward another fish. Shipping costs cannot be refunded. If the bags have been opened, the DOA policy is voided. We double bag everything we send. If you have any questions about fish care, please ask before purchasing. General Information — Coral Double Sword Fancy Guppy
The Coral Double Sword Fancy Guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is a stunning selectively bred strain prized for its vibrant coral coloration and the distinctive double sword extension on both the top and bottom of its tail fin. They are an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced hobbyists.
Appearance: Males display warm coral and orange tones across the body and fins, with twin sword-like tail extensions that give a graceful, symmetrical look in the water. Females are slightly larger with a more rounded body and subtler coloring, making them ideal broodstock.
Tank Setup: Guppies do well in a well-planted aquarium of at least 10 gallons. They appreciate open swimming space and gentle filtration — strong currents can stress their delicate fins.
Water Conditions: Guppies prefer a pH of 7.0–7.5 and a temperature between 72°F–82°F (22°C–28°C). Consistent, clean water is key to keeping their colors vibrant and fins healthy.
Diet: Guppies are omnivores and thrive on a varied diet of high-quality flake or micro pellets supplemented with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms to enhance color and vitality.
Compatibility: Fancy Guppies are peaceful and do well in community tanks with other small, non-aggressive fish. Avoid fin-nippers, as their flowing tails can make them a target.
Breeding: Purchasing a trio gives you everything you need to start breeding this beautiful strain. Guppies are livebearers and breed readily — if breeding is not your goal, males and females can be kept separately.
Social Behavior: Guppies are active and social fish. They do best in small groups and are a joy to watch as they display their fins and colors.
