Excluded Locations: We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
DOA Policy: In the unfortunate event of a DOA — while a rare occurrence — please take a photo of the snails in an unopened bag within 2 hours of receiving your shipment. If the animals are deemed DOA, we will always refund the cost of the snails or offer you the same value toward another purchase. Shipping costs cannot be refunded. If the bags have been opened, the DOA policy is voided. We double bag everything we send.

General Information — Acute Pond Snails (Ideal Live Food Culture)
The Acute Pond Snail (Physella acuta), also known as the bladder snail, is a highly prolific, hardy, and fast-reproducing species. Because of their thin shells and rapid life cycle, this pack of 120+ snails is widely considered the perfect, high-protein live food source for specialized aquatic predators like Pea Puffers, Turtles, Loaches, and Crayfish.
The Perfect Feeders: Their softer shells make them incredibly easy for Pea Puffers and Loaches to crack open, providing essential enrichment and wearing down growing beaks naturally. They are also packed with calcium and protein for growing turtles.
Instant Colony: A count of 120 snails gives you plenty of immediate feeders while providing an excellent baseline population if you choose to breed them yourself. They reproduce rapidly at room temperature with basic feeding.
Tank Setup: They can survive in almost any aquatic environment. If maintaining a feeder culture tank, a simple sponge filter, some java moss, or floating plants will help them multiply rapidly.
Water Conditions: Extremely adaptable. They thrive in a pH of 7.0–8.0 and a wide temperature range between 65°F–82°F.
Diet: In a culture tank, they are excellent clean-up crews. They feed heavily on fish food flakes, algae wafers, decaying leaves, and film algae. The better they eat, the faster they reproduce!
Compatibility: Highly compatible with other livestock unless they are intended to be food. Do not place them into a main display tank unless you want them to establish a permanent population, as their reproduction rate is very high.
